1812 Large Copper One Penny Token Roscoe Place Sheffield YORKSHIRE, County penny, 1812, laureate and draped bust of George III right/Britannia seated left. Book value is $1000 and one in same condition was sold for $700 by Noble Numismatics Pty Ltd in 2013. Almost as large as a US Silver Dollar. This is the coin that was minted during the War of 1812 and the first year the US Government defaulted on it's debts including NOT paying their Military Soldiers!
