1837 Executive Experiment Hard Times Token. 28mm. Copper. This rare antique Hard Times token from 1837 was created during the United States presidency of Martin Van Buren. The coin measures 30mm in diameter and weighs approximately 11.2 grams. The obverse of the token features a tortoise with strongbox on its back facing right (inscribed "Sub Treasury"), EXECUTIVE EXPERIMENT surrounds, and 1837 FISCAL AGENT reads below tortoise. The reverse of the token features a Donkey running left, above I FOLLOW IN THE STEPS OF MY ILLUSTRIOUS PREDECESSOR surrounds. Comes in an airtite Hard Plastic Presentation Round Case.
